Valladolid flatten dismal Rayo

Real Valladolid comfortably and emphatically dispatched with a poor Rayo Vallecano side on Sunday, winning 6-1.

Chori Dominguez’ early strike saw the visitors take the lead in this mid-afternoon match. However, a three-goal response inside 11 minutes through Alberto Bueno, Manucho and Oscar saw the hosts take firm control by the midway point of the first half.

It was 4-1 with 10 minutes to go to the break, when Antonio Rukavina emphatically finished into the roof of the net after picking up on a clever reverse pass from Omar Ramos. There was a hint of offside from the full-back in running into the area.

Soon into the second half it was 5-1 when Oscar snatched a second for himself on the day, with the home side enjoying space in which to attack beyond Rayo’s defence.

This was again apparent when Manucho slid in at the far post to secure his second of the game and leave suspended Coach Miroslav Djukic smiling in the stands.
