Miroslav Djukic has praised his Real Valladolid players for being ‘intelligent’ in reading their opponents Rayo Vallecano today.
Valladolid ran out 6-1 winners over their capital club visitors at the Zorilla, which their Coach believes was because of their work in assessing their opponents correctly.
“The team has been very intelligent. They have figured out the game, interpreted it very well,” he enthused afterwards, having watched the game from the stands as part of his two-game touchline ban.
“They knew how they had to play against this team, who we knew could play with a three-man defence. My team were very strong and profound, which was required against a team like Rayo who press high up the pitch.
“We have avoided making mistakes and then we have also been very effective, we dominated the second ball, whilst the wings were used well.”
Manucho marked his first start for the team this term with two of the goals.
“He had a great game and so did the whole of the team. He is a very important striker who scores the goals. Oscar got two as well. It is great for those people in attack and who live on the goals.”
