Sevilla President Jose Maria del Nido was unhappy with referee Mateu Lahoz following the 3-2 home loss to Barcelona.
The hosts had Gary Medel sent off on 72 minutes and were upset Lahoz did not give a handball against Thiago Alcantara in the build-up to Barca’s second goal.
“I want to speak out loud against all referees because I want to see officials who let players play, but fouls are fouls and handballs are handballs,” he told a Press conference.
“However, I’m disappointed to have lost against one of the best teams of all time because we played brilliantly and did not deserve to lose as we did everything possible to win.
“I can understand the fans going home disillusioned and outraged but I am tremendously thrilled with our team and believe that we are going to have a great season,” declared an upbeat Del Nido.
