Cicinho: Barca harder than Real

Cicinho has claimed that the weekend’s match at home to Barcelona will be a tougher test for Sevilla than the one in Week 4 against Real Madrid.

Los Rojiblancos defeated Jose Mourinho’s side 1-0 that day and now prepare to welcome their title rivals Barca to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan this Saturday.

“It is a very difficult game, as it was against Real Madrid. We know we will have to do even more than we did against Madrid in order to take the win,” the full-back [pictured, left] told reporters today.

“Barca are the League leaders, they are a great team and we have to work harder to try to win. Michel is working on that with us. Against Real Madrid we played very well, we were marking Cristiano Ronaldo very well and did not let him do anything.

“Barcelona are different, they play very fast. Saturday’s game will be that of our lives, we must all be at our best to get the result and not to be too preoccupied with how Barcelona arrive.

“What we showed against Real we also showed a little of against Deportivo. If we do the same against Barca, we will take great confidence and it will be great for us and our dynamic.”

The right-back has struck up a good understanding on the right wing with Jesus Navas.

“Jesus is a great player, it’s easy to play alongside him. When I look for him I know what I have to do and that’s great.”

Performances for Sevilla have had many calling the player the best right-back at the club since the days of weekend opponent Dani Alves.

“He is a great player, plays great football, everything that is being said about me being the next Daniel Alves… I am Cicinho, I am different and I have my football.

“I do not want to be compared to Alves, I want to be Cicinho.”
