Athletic Bilbao could include Iker Muniain in their Europa League squad for this Thursday’s game, after his return to training today.
The diminutive winger was initially ruled out of the Basques’ group stage opener at home to Ironi Kiryat Shmona after picking up a bruised right leg during the side’s weekend draw at Espanyol.
However, he has returned to full training today and according to reports on how he was used in Marcelo Bielsa’s strategy work on the training field, he looks set to be included in the matchday squad.
Inigo Perez will almost certainly miss the tie, however, with Oscar De Marcos being worked in training in his position on the left wing. Perez sprained his ankle also against Espanyol and has yet to rejoin the main group in training.
Athletic were defeated 3-0 in the final of last year’s edition of the UEFA competition, by Atletico Madrid.
