Mancini wants a win in Madrid

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says his team will be looking for victory in the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night.

The Blues take on Real Madrid in what has been termed the Group of Death, with Ajax and Borussia Dortmund making up the quartet, but Mancini insists the Premier League champions will not be happy with a draw against Jose Mourinho’s men.

“Real Madrid are one of the best teams in the world but our mentality is not to go there, or any other place, looking just to draw,” Mancini told Sky Sports.

“We know it will be a very difficult game but we want to play our own way.

“It will be a fantastic occasion and one that will be very special for everyone at City.

“When you play in the Champions League it is against some great teams and every opponent is tough.

“If you are up against Real Madrid or Barcelona you are facing 100 years of history and teams that have won everything, so it will be hard just because of that reason,” he concluded.
