Garcia ready for Madrid return

Manchester City midfielder Javi Garcia insists he is ready to take on Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night.

The 25-year-old left the Spanish champions in July 2009 to join Benfica, citing a lack of first-team opportunities, and maintains he is fully prepared for the Champions League clash against Jose Mourinho’s men and wants all three points.

“It’s going to be a special game for me as I have a lot of friends in Madrid and I hope to get the opportunity to see them all again,” he said in an interview with Champions League TV channel.

The Blues signed the Murcia-born player from the Portuguese giants before the end of the transfer deadline and he scored on his debut in the 1-1 draw with Stoke City at the weekend, and he is in doubt where his allegiances now lie.

“I’m going back there as a member of the opposition and I will give everything to secure all three points,” he declared.
