Anquela: Granada were lucky

Juan Antonio Anquela has admitted that his Granada side could easily have lost today against Deportivo, but sees light at the end of the tunnel.

The Andalucian hosts needed a late equaliser from Antonio Floro Flores to rescue a point. Opposition Coach Jose Luis Oltra suggested that the draw wasn’t a fair reflection of the game and Anquela agreed.

“A point is a good return, we lacked the correct approach and consistency today. The team started well, but lacked calmness in the final pass,” he began post-match.

“The goal conceded was an excessive punishment, but we were closer to losing the second half than winning it, but with a bit of luck, we may have also won.

“We have made too many mistakes, so it is very difficult. It would not be easy to score two goals every Sunday so as to win.

“We risked a lot too, but we had to die trying. I am not too nervous though, because sooner or later we will pick up the points. We have good players here, we will get a bit of success.”
