Santa Cruz: Malaga aim for top four

Roque Santa Cruz has been presented to the Press as a Malaga player after his deadline day move and declares the club's target as a top four finish again.

The Paraguayan joined the club on August 31, but was only presented to the assembled media today after commitments with his national team kept him from training with his new teammates.

“My international duty has kept me apart from the club for 10 days and I’ve yet to fully integrate with the new club, but I have the intention to be available to play this weekend,” reflected the Manchester City-owned striker.

“Finally this summer Manchester City received an offer that they were happy with for me, whilst to play in the Champions League was a great plus from my point of view.

“A mix of those two factors mean that I am happy to be here. It is promising, this is a year with new experiences in the Champions League and that gives an extra inventive to the players and the fans. It will be a nice season.

“The main objective will be to re-qualify for the Champions League, it is the goal at every level here and a good start to the season is critical to focus on that.”
