Retired Brazilian striker Ronaldo has admitted that he holds a preference for Lionel Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo.
“There is no doubt that they are the best players on the planet, but I think that Messi is a little better than Cristiano Ronaldo,” the 35-year-old told CNN today.
“He has a lot more creatively, it is fascinating. And that is despite him being an Argentine, the great rival for Brazil. Messi is a player that I admire a lot.”
The former Barcelona and Real Madrid striker then reflected on his compatriot Neymar, who has drawn comparisons with Messi too.
“He is a very talented player, but lacks a phase to be complete. Neymar has to play in Europe and be successful in Europe.”
