Beckham in Malaga link

A report in the Los Angeles Times maintains David Beckham is set to purchase a controlling interest in Malaga.

It claims the former Manchester United and Real Madrid man heads a consortium including former United States international and ex-Los Angeles Galaxy President Alexi Lalas that wants to take over from Qatari owner Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Thani.

The newspaper maintains the transaction would involve Al-Thani selling 75 per cent of Los Blanquiazules in exchange for shares owned by Beckham and Lalas in various Middle East outfits.

Diario Sur, however, insist that sources at the Costa del Sol club – including new executive Vice-President Moayad Shatat – do not have the slightest clue about any alleged agreement between the parties.
