Diego Godin has warned his Uruguay teammates of exactly what to expect from Atletico Madrid teammate Radamel Falcao tonight.
Teammates at the Vicente Calderon, Godin and Falcao will be in direct competition this evening when Colombia host Uruguay in a World Cup qualification encounter.
“He is very sensible, so we have a great affinity and get along. But that will not interfere in the game and we will each give the best for our team,” reassured Godin today.
“Falcao is in great form, everyone knows that. Controlling him will depend on the entire defence, not just me. We will move around the man, not individually mark. The key is to see it as a whole.
“We cannot give him an advantage or get distracted for a moment. Not only is he fast, but he is also very accurate.
“The key is to stay focused and to decide fast. We cannot let him have a head start because he plays well with the ball at his feet.
“He’s an athlete of God, he has great faith. The closer to the area, the more dangerous he is.”
