Ancelotti: Barca not as strong now

Paris Saint-German Coach Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that Barcelona are less superior without Pep Guardiola in charge.

The Italian still identifies the club as one of two favourites to win the Champions League this season, but with new Coach Tito Vilanova at the helm, views them as ‘more vulnerable’.

“Two clubs are favourites for the Champions League – Barcelona and Real Madrid,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Barcelona are strong even without [Pep] Guardiola in charge, but now they seem less aggressive and a little less focused in defence.

“They seem more vulnerable [than they have done] in previous seasons.”

Barcelona have been drawn into Group G for the Champions League group stages and will face Scottish champions Celtic, Unai Emery’s  Spartak Moscow and last year’s quarter-finalists Benfica.
