Lassad Nouioui has given his version of events that led to the confusion caused between Levante and Celtic, placing the blame on his agent.
Levante have since claimed that they had believed they were negotiating with the player’s FIFA-accredited agent, Karim Aklil. Similarly, Lassad suggests that he is to blame.
“Karim was my agent, but not anymore. On August 31 he called me and I made it clear that I was in no hurry to sign for a club. I told him that I didn’t want to do anything hastily. Levante was an option, but on the only one I had. He has created this problem for nothing.
“I did speak with a person at Levante [sporting director Manolo Salvador] and we only spoke about sporting terms. Then, they asked me who my agent was.
“Levante was an option, but nothing more. I have not lied to anyone, I never gave the OK to any agreement. How had I signed for Levante?
“What complaints [do Levante and Karim have]? Karim angrily called me on Saturday, from then on though I’ve not had any complaints.”
