Atletico Madrid’s Juanfran says teammate Radamel Falcao is the best striker in the world and will hopefully be at the club a long time.
The Spanish international was speaking at an awards ceremony organised by elgoldemadriz.com, at which he received a trophy for his sporting achievements.
“El Tigre is a spectacular striker. To me he is the best in the world and hopefully will be with us a long time and bring a lot of joy.
“He is very happy, enjoying things and scoring goals, so hopefully he continues to be just as happy,” said defender Juanfran, who was also asked his thoughts on Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments he was not content at cross-city rivals Real Madrid.
“It is not easy to judge a person, you know yourself whether or not you have problems. I, for one, am happy here and I see people around me who are also happy. That’s what matters.”
Juanfran also referred to last Friday’s European Supercup victory over Chelsea in Monaco.
“Everything went well and we played a great game. All Spain was watching and every Spaniard was behind Atletico. After that you can only be very pleased.”
