Real Madrid have announced an agreement for the transfer of French midfielder Lassana Diarra to Anzhi Makhachkala, reports La Razon.
While the Spanish champions were negotiating to bring Michal Essien to the Santiago Bernabeu on deadline day, talks also took place late into the night with the Russian outfit for the transfer of Diarra.
Everything now depends upon the player giving his consent to the deal and he is expected to undergo a medical on Saturday if he gives it the green light.
Diarra arrived at Real from Portsmouth in January 2008, after previous spells with Le Havre, Chelsea and Arsenal, and went on to win a La Liga title, the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de Espana.
However, it is understood his apparent refusal to play at right-back recently has convinced Los Blancos to let him go before his contract expires in June 2013, having started two of Real’s official games this term – against Valencia and Getafe in La Liga.
