Jimenez rues missed chances

Manolo Jimenez believes that poor finishing was the difference between Real Zaragoza and Malaga on Saturday.

The Aragonese fell to a second consecutive home defeat of the season as Ignacio Camacho scored the only goal of the game for Manuel Pellegrini’s visitors.

Whilst admitting that the opponents were strong, Jimenez believed that to lose the game was unjust for the performance his players put in.

“Malaga are in a League above us,” reflected the tactician today.

“But, we were not able to take our chances and we lost to a dead-ball situation that was brought about by great work from Joaquin and then Camacho, who scored ahead of his marker.

“The pitch seemed impractical, it was like a beach, but defeat was a heavy punishment. The international break does not come at a good time, because it will be very long before we can play again.”
