Gerard Pique has slammed a Spanish journalist who voted for Cristiano Ronaldo over Andres Iniesta.
Marca journalist Francisco Justicia opted to select Ronaldo instead of Iniesta in the vote for Europe’s best player of the 2011-12 season, organised by UEFA.
However, Spanish international Pique showed his displeasure with Justicia’s decision to ignore his Barcelona teammate by criticising him on Twitter.
“Congratulations to the journalist from Spain who did not vote for Andres Iniesta! #etfelicitofill” wrote Pique via his official account.
Fortunately for Iniesta, most foreign journalists did not share Justicia’s view and the World and European champion won the award with 19 votes, two more than both Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
