Ex Valencia goalkeeper Cesar Sanchez has hailed his former teammate and new Real Madrid acquisition Luka Modric.
The Croatian midfielder made his debut for Los Blancos at the Bernabeu last night, as Jose Mourinho's side won the Supercopa on away goals having beaten Barcelona 2-1 on the night.
Sanchez spent the 2008-2009 season at Tottenham with Modric, and believes the 26-year-old playmaker offers the capital club a different option.
“He does not play like Sami Khedira, Xabi Alonso or Mesut Ozil,” the 40-year-old shot-stopper told Marca. “He is associated much more with his low centre of gravity and releasing a great final pass.
“He may be small, but physically he is very strong and has many attributes.
“It is a great signing, you'll see.”
Modric will hope to make his La Liga debut for the champions when they host Granada this Sunday.
