QPR, Real confirm Granero deal

Queens Park Rangers  have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of Esteban Granero.

The 25-year-old reportedly agreed initial terms on a five-year deal with the London club yesterday evening, turning down Tottenham Hotspur in the process.

Today, QPR have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Real for his transfer, pending signing of that contract and the player passing a medical.

“Queens Park Rangers have reached agreement with Real Madrid for the permanent transfer of midfielder Esteban Granero,” read a brief posting on the Premier League side’s official website.

“The deal is subject to the player agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.”

Real soon after also confirmed the agreement via a similar statement on their website.

Granero is a Real Madrid youth product that the club bought back from Getafe in 2009 for €4m. He has made 67 apperances for the first team.
