Sergio Canales has stressed that his Real Sociedad team have high aspirations for this season.
The former Valencia and Real Madrid midfielder is convinced the San Sebastian outfit has strengthened well over the summer, with Esteban Granero penning a permanent deal and the signings of goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli and Icelandic striker Alfred Finnbogason.
“We have high hopes for this campaign. There are three or four things we need to do to get us back on track and then we’ll be near the top again,” Canales told the club’s official website.
“We got a good point at Balaidos against Celta Vigo at the weekend in what was the most intense game we’ve played so far this term.
“However, the season has only just begun and there is room for further improvement, both on a collective and individual level,” he affirmed.
