Granero plumps for QPR

Following conflicting reports over who he would be joining, Esteban Granero has finally plumped for Queens Park Rangers, reports Sport.

The Real Madrid midfielder was understood to have had two offers from England and one from Germany but has decided to link up with Mark Hughes at Loftus Road.

The 25-year-old has been frozen out at the Santiago Bernabeu after seeing his first-team opportunities further limited by the signing of Luka Modric this week, and will travel to London today to complete his transfer after a medical.

The Premier League outfit will pay around €6m for Granero, whose contract with the Madrid club runs out in June 2013, with Hughes already having revealed he expects the former Getafe man to be his midfield general.

Granero is believed to have been offered a five-year contract and could be in line for his debut when the Hoops travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on champions Manchester City on Saturday.
