Djukic: Valladolid to match Athletic

Miroslav Djukic is targeting inflicting a third successive defeat on Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, for a third successive win for his Real Valladolid.

The Serbian Coach’s newly-returned outfit are currently sharing top spot in the Primera Division with Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano after winning their opening two games of the season.

Visiting bottom-of-the-League Athletic, Djukic is relishing the test, with respect to his opponents.

“They have a great Coach in Marcelo Bielsa and are a team to respect, they make it very difficult to win on the field, but we will try to play like them one on one to see where we compare to a great team like Athletic Club,” he reflected in today’s Press conference.

“They have quality players, are very fast, like to use the wings a lot. We expect a very difficult task, since in front of their fans they will want to return to the path of last year.

“We are going to try to improve, learning day by day and will be the usual Valladolid, defending well as our approach.

“My team is very connected and grows in humility, valuing work and sacrifice.”
