Pellegrino: Valencia lacked attention

Valencia boss Mauricio Pellegrino blamed a lack of attention by his players following the 3-3 home draw with Deportivo de La Coruna.

Los Che managed to throw away a two-goal advantage at Mestalla, allowing the Galicians to stage a second-half comeback, and Pellegrino said his team must address a lack of concentration in certain phases of the game.

“I don’t know why the team changed so much after we scored the third goal because after that we lowered our level of attention,” the Argentine told a Press conference.

“Rather than the team’s performance we must learn not to commit that kind of error again. It was a game with many ups and downs. Some issues concerned me and others did not.

“We made errors that we have not previously done and made it difficult to get forward and score goals, then afterwards conceded from set-pieces.

“We need to get rid of this lack of concentration,” he added, before acknowledging that the pitch at Mestalla was not in the best condition, although it was the same for both teams’.
