Vazquez over Simao for Espanyol

Alvaro Vazquez keeps his place in the Espanyol line-up against Real Zaragoza, meaning Simao Sabrosa must wait to make his debut.

Vazquez is still in dispute with the club over the renewal of his contract, which currently expires next summer.

However, Mauricio Pochettino played him last weekend against Mallorca and has kept faith with him to again lead the attack tonight at home to Zaragoza. That decision leaves summer signing Simao on the bench. Meanwhile, Raul Rodriguez comes into the side in place of Juan Forlin.

For visitors Zaragoza, who lost their opening game of the season at home to newly-promoted Real Valladolid, Manolo Jimenez has made three chances, bringing into the side Jose Mari, Raul Goni and Adam Pinter.

Starting line-ups

Espanyol: Alvarez; Rodriguez, Victor, Moreno, Capdevila; Verdu, Javi Lopez, Albin, Gomez; Wakaso; Vazquez

Zaragoza: Roberto; Goni, Paredes, Alvaro, Abraham; Pinter, Apono; Montanes, Jose Mari, Edu Oriol; Postiga
