Alex Song has explained that he is at Barcelona to win trophies, whilst also revealing exactly where he is comfortable on the pitch.
The midfielder completed a €19m move from Arsenal earlier this week and after two training sessions with his new teammates, could be in line for a debut in tonight’s Clasico Super Cup meeting with Real Madrid.
Speaking to BarcaTV, Song made clear that playing for trophies was perhaps the main motivation to joining the Camp Nou club.
“I want to win it all, Barcelona is a winning team, they always win titles and you want to be a part of that,” he stated.
“I have not won anything so this is a great opportunity for me, so I hope we keep winning and at the end of the season we lift as many titles as we can.
“I like everything about the club. We all like their style of play and now I have the opportunity to be here with them and I will do my best.”
There is speculation over where the Cameroonian will fit into the team.
“Yes, I am versatile and I have played at Arsenal as centre-back as well as central midfield, and for my national team I’ve even played behind a main striker.
“I want to enjoy playing and to give everything to help my team, I have no preference.”
