Obradovic setback for Zaragoza

Real Zaragoza could be without left-back Ivan Obradovic for at least a month with a knee injury.

The Serbian international was forced to leave the pitch on a stretcher in the 71st minute of the 1-0 home defeat to Real Valladolid on Monday night.

Los Manos’ boss Manolo Jimenez said after the game that Obradovic [pictured right] has ‘a probable sprain and it could take him at least four weeks to recover’.

Tests carried out on the player on Tuesday morning have revealed that the 24-year-old has suffered what the club described as ‘an indirect trauma to his left knee’.

Obradovic’s injury comes after a week during which Jimenez also lost central defender Glenn Loovens to a knee injury, although the summer signing from Celtic is expected to resume light training again this week.

Nonetheless, Jimenez is short on defensive cover and could be looking to bring somebody in as cover before the weekend visit to Espanyol.
