Jimenez laments Zaragoza defeat

Manolo Jimenez showed his disappointment with his Real Zaragoza players following the 1-0 home defeat to Real Valladolid.

The visitors scored the only goal of the game through Oscar just before the break and missed a second-half penalty through Victor Perez.

However, Jimenez thought Los Manos should have grabbed victory and that lady luck had shown down on Miroslav Djukic’s men.

“We had very little to do to have won this match. It was settled within 15 minutes when they scored and missed a ridiculous penalty.

“I wish we could have had the same good fortune but they came here not to lose, created two chances and scored one of them.

“Valladolid have had the same block of players for three years. We were very green and paid for it,” he told a Press conference.

Jimenez also lamented an injury suffered by Ivan Obradovic, which together with the one picked up by new signing Glenn Loovens earlier in the week ‘leaves us a little short’.
