Song completes Barca deal

After earlier passing medical tests, Arsenal midfielder Alexandre Song has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with Barcelona.

The Cameroonian international was photographed outside the Catalan club’s headquarters earlier today, before proceeding to undergo examinations throughout the morning.

“Song has very little body fat and very good quality muscle levels, it looks as if he has not had a muscle related injury since the age of 17, which is remarkable,” club doctor Ricard Pruna said today.

“All I have is good news. He is at his peak levels of fitness and very much ready to play.”

The defensive midfielder then met with club President Sandro Rosell this afternoon to put the finishing touches to the €19m move from Arsenal.

Rosell posted via his Twitter account that Song was now 'part of the Blaugrana family', before also putting up pictures of the midfielder signing his deal.

After signing the five-year agreement with the club, the player is now expected to be unveiled to fans and teammates tonight ahead of the Joan Gamper Trophy match against Sampdoria.
