Oltra: Depor had identity

Jose Luis Oltra is delighted with both the three points and the manner of the win for Deportivo this Monday.

The newly-returned La Liga outfit defeated Osasuna 2-0 at the Riazor to begin the new campaign with a win, enthusing their tactician with optimism.

“I’m very pleased with how it turned out, but more with what we have achieved,” Oltra stated afterwards.

“The team has internalised the idea and identifies with it. There are nuances to polish and room for improvement, but we are on the right track.

“We had chances for more goals, a penalty, two posts struck…we didn’t expend energy in defence but the team still defended solidly. To collect a clean sheet is vital, especially when you play at home, and we have achieved that.

“Two forwards scored, which demonstrates that the team has options and possibilities. Our playing idea, if not put into practice, it’s worth noting, is for those who are footballers, and Deportivo have applied it.”
