Brighton and Hove Albion boss Gustavo Poyet has told Barcelona what they will be getting if, as expected, they sign defender Alex Song.
Poyet, a former Real Zaragoza, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur player, has seen the Arsenal man at close quarters during his time in England and is in no doubt about the kind of player the Cameroon international is.
“Song is a beast. He has great presence and good technique.
“It remains to be seen what role he would occupy at Barcelona,” Poyet told RAC-1’s Primer Toc programme.
At the same time, he also gave his opinion on midfielder Luka Modric, who is expected to join Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur after a long drawn-out transfer saga over the summer months.
“He is very good but he won’t change the way that Real Madrid play.
“We will have to wait and see where Mourinho fits him into his team.”
