Kaka to replace Beckham in LA?

LA Galaxy are reportedly contemplating replacing David Beckham at the end of his contract and have identified Real Madrid’s Ricky Kaka.

Kaka has been heavily linked with a departure out of Madrid this summer, with Milan known to have held negotiations for his re-signature, but having struggled to convince Florentino Perez to send him back to Italy on loan.

LA Galaxy have also been linked with the 30-year-old and today AS are suggesting that this interest is as they plan for a successor to Beckham.

At 37, there is speculation that the Americans will be happy to release the Englishman at the end of his contract and it is understood that LA would like Kaka to take his place as a ‘star player’. Kaka was reportedly well-received by fans in the States during Real Madrid’s pre-season tour.

MLS side Galaxy are prepared to offer the Brazilian €27m for a three-year contract, matching his current Real Madrid wage, and are understood to even be prepared to wait until 2013 to sign the player, if they cannot convince Los Blancos of a deal this summer.

Galatasaray are also said to be considering a loan bid for Kaka this summer, but that they would require 50 per cent of his wages to be financed by Real.
