Paris Saint-Germain striker Kevin Gameiro is hoping to wrap up a transfer to Valencia this week, reports Superdeporte.
Los Che boss Mauricio Pellegrino has made the signing of a top-class forward as back up for Roberto Soldado one of his priorities after Aritz Aduriz’s move to Athletic Bilbao.
Despite youngster Paco Alcacer’s emergence, Pellegrino is understood to want someone with more experience and has settled on former Strasbourg and Lorient hitman Gameiro, who would welcome a move to the Mestalla.
“Today I am a Paris Saint Germain player but after that we will see,” Gameiro told French journalists when asked about his future earlier this week.
Valencia, on the other hand, have still made no movement to sign the 25-year-old, who they were linked with last summer before he opted to join the cash-rich Parisians in a deal worth €11m.
