Valladolid snap up Argentinean

Real Valladolid have reached agreement to take attacking midfielder Juan Neira from Lanus on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

The club’s official website says the 23-year-old will be unveiled at the Nuevo Jose Zorrilla on Tuesday with Los Blanquivioletas retaining the right to buy the player at the end of the 2012-13 campaign.

Neira spent last term with Lanus after signing on a free transfer from Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata in August 2011, making 23 appearances in the Argentine Primera Division.

However, half of those came as a substitute in the final minutes and he started just nine times, playing the full 90 minutes only once and scoring one goal.

An Argentine Under-20 international, Neira represented his country in the 2009 South American Championships in Venezuela at that level, and becomes Valladolid’s third signing of the summer after the arrivals of midfielder Lluis Sastre from Huesca and 1860 Munich’s Antonio Rukavina.
