Djukic: Valladolid philosophy to stay

Real Valladolid boss Miroslav Djukic says his football philosophy will be the same next season for the club's return to La Primera.

Los Blanquivioletas booked a top-flight spot last month with play-off victory over Alcorcon, and the former Serbia national team boss told a Press conference he is unwavering in his resolve that his team will look to play attractive football next term.

“We are not going to park the bus and defend our goal but will stick to the philosophy that helped us reach La Primera.

“If we have to die doing so we’ll have done it by playing our own style of football,” Djukic said defiantly. “We are an aggressive and competitive team that wants the ball and always looks to go forward, so we should not be scared of being in possession and playing with attacking wide men.

“It served us well in La Segunda and we don’t need to change things now.”

Djukic is aware the financial situation at the Nuevo Jose Zorrilla is difficult but trusts solutions will be found to strengthen his squad before the start of the 2012-13 campaign.

“We have just introduced two new players in Lluis Sastre and Antonio Rukavina and have filled a gap we had at right-back.

“Now we must focus on the inside positions as the losses of Sisi, Nauzet and Jofre has left us a little light, but the club is trying hard to try and fill these positions.”
