Real Madrid set for B team windfall

Real Madrid are set to benefit by around €15m if the planned sale of three of the club’s B team players goes through this summer.

Last season’s leading goalscorer Joselu and right-back Dani Carvajal are both being linked with moves to the Bundesliga while midfielder Juanfran is on Real Betis’ radar.

Marca reports that Hoffenheim are preparing an €8m bid for Joselu – hero of the play-off against Cadiz that saw the reserves promoted to La Segunda last month – and the 22-year-old is believed to be keen to try his luck in Germany with his way into Jose Mourinho’s team blocked by the likes of Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain.

Carvajal, meanwhile, could be on his way to Bayer Leverkusen, who are willing to pay around €5m to take him to the Bay Arena, with Juanfran – who would command a fee upwards of €1m – the subject of interest from Betis.

It is not the first time Madrid will have profited from the sale of its up-and-coming stars as 12 months ago Juan Carlos moved to Braga for €2.5m and Fran Rico was snapped up by Granada for €1m.
