Tom de Mul leaves Sevilla

Belgian winger Tom de Mul has been released by Sevilla following five unhappy years at the Sanchez Pizjuan, reports El Desmarque.

The 26-year-old has not received an offer to renew his contract after making just 11 official appearances for the Andalusians since his €5m arrival from Ajax, completing a full 90 minutes just once.

De Mul has found his way into the first team at Sevilla consistently blocked by the fine form of Spanish international Jesus Navas and spent 18 months on loan at Racing Genk and Standard Liege respectively, although he failed to make a single appearance for the latter.

Injuries have also played a part in his miserable time with Sevilla and he was sidelined for the entire 2009-10 season with a serious groin injury.
