Getafe boss Jose Bordalas ‘frustrated’ by VAR stoppages

Getafe Coach Jose Bordalas admits the nine minutes of added time because of VAR decisions were ‘frustrating’ as he hailed his ‘outstanding’ team.

Los Azulones secured an impressive two-goal victory at Sevilla on Sunday night but the second half was disrupted with a number of VAR stoppages which led to the lengthy period of stoppage time.

“It was frustrating because of the numerous VAR issues which prolonged the match,” Bordalas told reporters, as cited by press agency EFE.

“We must get used to these sorts of incidents and delays, because officials will need to watch images on repeat before making a decision.

“We are very happy with the victory in such a complicated match, because they will have wanted to bounce back from their defeat against Betis.

“We were fantastic, every single player was outstanding and while the heat took its toll late on, we still caused them problems and deserved the points.”
