Benzema: Warning to my critics…

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has warned his critics that he will change their narrative “with more goals and assists than ever before.”

Benzema ended his drought in front of goal with a brace during Madrid’s 6-0 demolition of APOEL in the Champions League, and the striker asserted ‘confidence’ was flowing through him again.

“We can always give more, the whole team and I,” he said after the game.

“I always want to give more. Sometimes things go well, like they did tonight. I always work to improve and help my colleagues.

“Running to Mayoral for my celebration? I know that I’m an example for Mayoral, I like him. He’s young and I want him to always look at me and learn from me.

“Lack of goals? I always want to score, I’m a striker, but it’s not just about scoring. It’s very important, but I can do other things, although I always want to score more.

“I’m always focused on my teammates. if I can help them with a pass or a move, I will.

“Criticism? It’s part of my life, but I’m going to change that with goals, assists and more things on the pitch because I can do them, and I’ll do them more than ever before.

“Big win? It gives us more confidence, we scored six goals and didn’t concede, and confidence always follows. I’m very happy at Madrid.”
