Falcao to admit Spanish tax fraud

Monaco striker Radamel Falcao will plead guilty to tax fraud in relation to his time at Atletico Madrid between 2011 and 2013, say reports in Spain.

The Colombian – who netted 70 goals in 91 appearances for Los Rojiblancos – is set to pay a fee of €6.9m for not declaring image rights of which he is said to owe €5.6m.

El Mundo report the player will plead guilty to the charges and as such he will have €1.3m returned to him after paying a lump sum of €8.2m to the Spanish authorities in July.

There was no confirmation of the reports from the Spanish prosecution office although this is likely to draw an end to one of the many cases linked to footballer’s failure to pay image rights in the country.
