Barcelona have reached a ‘total agreement’ with Philippe Coutinho over a move to the Camp Nou but Liverpool are yet to sanction a deal, say reports in Spain.
According to RAC1, the Brazilian playmaker is keen to ‘fulfil his destiny’ by joining the Blaugrana and wants to complete a move this summer.
Reports suggest Barca will now lodge a second bid for the former Inter player in excess of the reported €75m they saw knocked back by the Reds last week.
The Catalan club are said to envisage the 25-year-old, who is usually deployed in an attacking front-three in England, as Andres Iniesta’s long-term heir in the midfield.
Coutinho signed a new deal at Anfield last season until 2022 and they are ‘fully confident’ he will not become distracted by such reports.
Mundo Deportivo say a Barca entourage is currently in England in an attempt to finalise the deal, which would give Liverpool much-needed funds for transfers of their own.
