Madrid monitor Donnarumma situation

Real Madrid have reignited their interest in AC Milan’s teenage goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to reports in Spain.

The 17-year-old has already amassed over 50 appearances for the Rossoneri and AS now report Zinedine Zidane’s side are considering the Italian along with Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Donnarumma is viewed as Italy’s long-term replacement for Gianluigi Buffon but Tuttosport have pointed out the teenager’s reluctance to sign a new deal at San Siro could be due to him weighing up the possibility of moving to the Spanish capital.

“Real Madrid want me? I’m only thinking about AC Milan, doing well and working hard every day. We’ll see,” the shot-stopper had told Sky Italia back in December.

The position at the Bernabeu has come under scrutiny in recent weeks after number one goalkeeping choice Keylor Navas was seen to be at fault for Stevan Jovetic’s late winner for Sevilla to end the club’s 40-game unbeaten streak.
