Zidane admits RM in ‘bad moment’

Zinedine Zidane admits Real Madrid’s loss at Sevilla on Sunday night may have damaged his side psychologically for their Copa Del Rey defeat to Celta Vigo.

Goals from Iago Aspas inflicted Madrid’s first home defeat of Zidane’s era and their first in a cup competition since Jose Mourinho was manager, but he is not worried this will have a lasting impact for the season.

"We played a strange game and this was in a bad moment, we will not hide from this…two games in a row, something is happening,” admitted Zidane to reporters after the game.

“We must analyse our situation, look at it now and see what we can do to rapidly change these results.

“Tonight we played a very good rival who made it difficult for us; we did not know how to manage properly the game and we had no intensity from the start.

“We know what we must do there, ninety minutes or maybe more left in the tie. We must play differently, return to playing as we can.

“It is good for us to have another game on Saturday. Football is like that, it’s a bad moment, but we will come out of it all together.

"The squad is annoyed at the defeats, but we must be more intense, more energetic, and that will bring us out of this disappointment."
