Silva: City dressing room together

David Silva has warned Barcelona that the Manchester City dressing room is more united than ever ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash.

The Blues’ recent bad run was ended at the weekend with a comprehensive 4-0 victory at West Bromwich Albion and Silva says the recent dip in form has brought the players even more together.

“The dressing room has been fine and it’s more united than ever,” the Spain international told the Manchester Evening News. “We’ve been doing things well but they weren’t turning out as we’d have liked.

“We made mistakes at key moments and it’s not that we were doing badly. It’s just that we made mistakes and in the big games these can prove decisive, so we must learn from that.

“It was time to end that run. I believe we had bad luck in some games and missed some chances. We also missed two penalties in one game. But that’s football and now we have ended that run we are happy.”

Looking ahead to the Barca game, Silva has urged his teammates to reproduce the form they showed in the first 50 minutes of their 4-0 defeat at the Camp Nou.

“We are going to try and do what we did well in Barcelona up until Claudio Bravo received his red card. We have to do the same at home,” he insisted.
