Modric signs new Madrid deal

Luka Modric has put pen to paper on a new deal with Real Madrid which will run until 2020, the club have confirmed.

The Croatian will publicly sign the contract at the Bernabeu on Wednesday afternoon, following on from his side's Champions League clash with Legia Warsaw on Tuesday night.

“Real Madrid C. F. and Luka Modric have reached an agreement to extend the player’s contract with the club until 30 June 2020,” read a club statement.

“Luka Modric will appear before the media on Wednesday at 1:30pm in the press room at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.”

The 31-year-old joined Los Blancos from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 and has made 180 appearances for the club, scoring 11 times, and has proved influential and a maintstay in Zinedine Zidane's side.
