Ramos to miss six weeks

Sergio Ramos is to miss at least the next six weeks after suffering a ligament sprain in his knee in Spain's win in Albania on Sunday.

Real Madrid's captain has been diagnosed with a grade two sprain of the media collateral ligament in his left knee after falling awkwardly late on in the match and whilst the club have not specified how long he would be out for, all reports now suggest that it will be a minimum of six weeks rather than the four weeks which had initally been thought.

Both Onda Cero and AS believe Ramos will be available to return for Real Madrid with their derby against Atletico next month on the 19th November but Marca are more pessimistic, stating that he is aiming to play in El Clasico against Barcelona on 3rd December.

He adds to a mounting injury list for Real Madrid who also have Casemiro, Lucas Modric, Marcelo, Fabio Coentrao and James Rodriguez all unavailable, and who's first game after the international break is away to Real Betis.

Ramos will also definitely miss games against Athletic Bilbao, Leganes and Alaves as well as both Champions League ties with Legia Warsaw, along with Spain's fixtures against Macedonia and England next month.
