Former Valencia striker David Villa has expressed doubts that he will return to the Spanish club.
Currently at New York City, Villa spoke to Super Deporte where he said that despite his love for Los Che, a return to the Mestalla was highly unlikely.
"It is difficult," the 34-year-old said after being questioned about the rumour.
"Whenever I talk to my former team-mates the questions are always the same, but I think it's very complicated due to my contract in America.
"Valencia is a club for whom I have much love and appreciation, I hope they can turn their season around."
