Milan want Emery and Monchi?

Reports in Italy say Milan want to appoint both Sevilla Coach Unai Emery and sporting director Monchi.

Emery has long been linked with San Siro, dating back to last summer, when he was a target of the Serie A club but chose to remain at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Transfer supremo Monchi, meanwhile, made clear his desire to quit Nervion, only for the club to stand firm and insist he honour the contract signed in 2015 that runs until 2020.

AS cites La Gazzetta as saying the Rossoneri still hold interest in Emery and have added Monchi to their wanted list as well, with Emery costing €3m to get out of his contract and Monchi €8m.

Milan could have new owners in the near future and that is what’s said to have spurred the interest in a new Coach, though the prospective buyers agree with Milan CEO Adriano Galliaini. Ex-Villarreal, Real Madrid, Malaga and Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is the other option for the bench.

Pellegrini’s salary – put at €6m-a-year – could though price Milan out of an approach for the Chilean’s services.
