Malaga confirm Amrabat exit

Malaga owner Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani has confirmed that Nordin Amrabat will leave the club this month, with Watford reportedly his destination.

The Watford Observer claims the Hornets are ready to meet the winger’s €8.8m release clause, and the owner concedes he is powerless to deny the player of his “dream” to ply his trade in the Premier League.

“Good morning everyone. I want to clarify some things about Nordin Amrabat,” he tweeted.

“I’m not and and [I] will not think of selling the player, but everyone must understand this.

“[He] told me ‘this is my dream [leaving Malaga for the Premier League]!’

“I can’t say to him ‘you can’t go’. We are human beings.

“I hope everyone knows that very well.”

Amrabat joined Malaga in the summer of 2014 on a season-long loan from Galatasaray and scored six goals in 31 La Liga appearances.

His arrangement was made permanent in April of last year, but a knee injury has curtailed his ability to make an impact on 2015-16.
