Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal has played down the severity of his injury but concedes he has yet to undergo tests.
The defender was replaced by Alvaro Arbeloa in the 42nd minute of Sunday’s capital derby against Atletico Madrid, with initial reports suggesting the player took a nasty blow to his ankle.
“I have a good feeling about the injury, but we must wait until [Monday] for tests to see whether I can go with the national team,” he told Canal+.
Carvajal may now miss Spain’s upcoming games against Luxembourg and Ukraine on October 9 and 12 respectively.
Madrid, meanwhile, already have their right-back options diminished due to Danilo’s foot injury.
